Mr. Gray is a Member of the firm, where he concentrates on construction and design industry matters, commercial law and commercial litigation. He represents prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals and owners in the construction and design law field. He also handles negligence claims regarding appraisal professionals and others. Mr. Gray, an experienced trial lawyer, regularly handles complex multimillion dollar cases.
Mr. Gray has taught graduate and undergraduate courses on administrative law and the legal profession, and regularly lectures to trade associations and professional organizations on construction law topics. Several examples including authoring Construction Claims Under Oregon Law (Cambridge Institute 1990-92) for which he served as Course Instructor; serving as editor, an author and a Course Instructor of Construction Claims Under Washington Law (Cambridge Institute 1991). He was co-author and lecturer for Advanced Construction Law in Oregon (National Business Institute 1996 and 1998); authored and served as Course Instructor for Architect-Engineer Liability Under Oregon Law (Cambridge Institute 1987-89); authored "Damages Under Construction Agreements" for the Oregon State Bar CLE Construction Law, (1989 & 1993 Supp.); and was an author and panelist for "Oregon Construction Law" (Law Seminars International 1998 and 1999). Mr. Gray regularly serves as an arbitrator or mediator.
Mr. Gray is a Member of the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society of The Litigation Counsel of America. This honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is by invitation only based on a thorough, confidential peer-review survey taken by thousands of lawyers in the U.S. Fellows are selected based upon effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.
Mr. Gray has also been honored as an Oregon "Superlawyer" in the area of construction and design law for the past three consecutive years, by the independent research firm Law & Politics. In selecting attorneys for Super Lawyers, Law & Politics employs a rigorous, multiphase process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Portland Monthly magazine named Arnold Gray as one of "Portland's Best Lawyers 2008" in the area of construction law. |
